raftercantilever

Pearland - Rafters are required to be bearing onto a load-bearing wall or beam.
Not here and this is a hurricane zone. Who's watching the watchers?

gascondenserloc

No 3 feet clearance from gas meter to a/c condenser. Some cities require 5 feet. The condenser is a ignition source.

gasgroundtofp

The metal fireplace is grounded to the adjacent gas line. If lightning hits the metal chimney above the roof what do you think will happen? This is fairly common on resale inspections in League City, Friendswood and Seabrook. A gas line can't be used as a grounding electrode.

nogroundfurnaces

The ground wire was never connected to the furnace in this new built home (1-year warranty inspection). "Grounding is your friend".

to60amp

Parallel wiring (bad enough) but with 30 amp rated wires connected to a 60 amp breaker. Wire corrosion and no ground connecton. And you wonder how electrical fires start? You can't find this stuff in a 2 hour cheap inspection.

ductnotconnected

Dickinson - New built home. Someone forgot to run a air flow duct to a room. This was full air flow into the attic. This home passed the builders 3rd party inspector, city inspection and Energy Star inspection.

ductscontact

Air flow ducts in contact with each other drip condensate water to ceilings below. Ducts in contact are a code violation.
